Long-distance move from Tucker, GA to Beaufort, SC

Very Professional!!

He is nothing short of THE MAN!!!! He showed up and moved everything quickly and efficiently! I have nothing but praises for this man. He took care of all my stuff in a two bedroom apartment and we were done in just under three hours. If you need something handled, call him. He’s a true, honest, hard working person.

Long-distance move from Springdale, AR to Gilbert, AZ

Such a Disappointment

USIR subcontracted to this company without my consent. They showed up 2 days late to pick up the load at 845 PM at night. We have furniture that is destroyed and items that are missing. We were overcharged and we are just broken over what has all happened. We are contacting BBB, DOT and the office of the inspector General.

Long-distance move from Illinois to South Carolina

Moved from Chicago,IL to Anderson South Carolina

I relocated from Chicago, IL to Anderson South Carolina, unbeknownst to me they were outsourced from a Moving Company contractor I was given one price by the contactor when this company came to pick my belongings up they did it on time when I finally got settled in my new place the price of the move or for them to deliver my items to me went up. letting them know that I am a Disabled Veteran and I am on a fixed income I started to receive storage fees, and I had some death in the family in the process of trying to get my items, they were helpful and trying to work with me. On the 28th of April of this year 2024, I had one week to come up with 3600.00 to get my belongings out of storage or they would donate my stuff to the local thrift stores in the area I called on the 26th of April to pay 2800.00 and asked to see if I could have another month to deliver my items or I was willing to pick them up I received no answer from the manager Mr. Eli. Amazingly, they state they are a great company, although their customer service is horrible and if you are a Veteran do not use this company. i have accepted that I lost 30 years of my life and what I worked hard for is gone. MY WARNING IS TO EVERYONE TO THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO USE THIS MOVING COMPANY AND MOVING SERVICE. I am rebuilding it will take time as well as healing, begins for me.

Long-distance move from Knoxville, TN to Sterling Heights, MI

They did not schedule me a delivery, just showed up.

TN pick up-They used fraudulent technique, offering a very low quote with the purpose of securing my job, then demanded an amount that is much higher than the original offer.

Deposit made to secure truck, on CC. I was told they are 3rd party by drivers. Only one driver showed up, to pick up so I helped load the truck. Driver hit on me, became friends on FB. This told him I was out of town. They came out of Atlanta, passing thru TN. I believe he has something to do w/Handle with Care. Late, lacked professionalism and experience. His girlfriend/wife called on speaker, he stated what a shitty job he was at. I worked harder than he.

The office called me day after delivery, very rude, condescending, argumentative, told me, "I better care who she is". She refused to set my delivery, told me "her partner would be calling to set it up". Never heard from partner. I made many attempts. They would not take my calls. Had several friends call they never returned the calls.

Delivery-Mover delivered w/out calling me so did Handle with Care. No delivery date on Bill of Ladding.

They dumped my belongings in my garage, did not assemble or carry up steps. Stated they would, "unwrap to make sure there were no rats in my stuff before taking in". (My stuff is BRAND NEW). Bed not assembled ever.

The pick up Bill of Ladding you can't read. Damaged goods and missing household items. I also have someone else’s belongings. I'm in TN, I've yet to see in person, Only pics. I will be calling the Police to file a report. My friend had to meet them to give cash before they would unload. The driver charged me a "Holding Fee of $250.00.

He Bullied an made threats to put my stuff into a storage.

He was all over the place from start. Charging different amounts, charging me by the minute. Handle with Care

Should be held responsible for their actions, so I’m doing what is necessary to seek my rights as a consumer.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Utah

Worst experience ever.

WARNING!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They will quote you one price over the phone and by email to get your non-refundable deposit. Then when and if the movers show up and load your items they will tell you it will cost you more. I was quoted $2,812 (by Kevin) for a move from Illinois to Utah. They never called 48 hours in advance like I was told.. I called several times and sent emails that went unanswered. I was told that the move would take place on 8-30-20. I got a call from the dispatcher, (Daisy who laughed at me because I was so upset) on Sunday the 30th telling me that they would not be there untill Monday. That was unacceptable because I had to be out before Monday. I hung up very angry because I gave up on them and was trying to reserve a Uhaul to move myself. Out of the blue I get another call saying they could be there on Sunday as promised, Hmmm? Once it was loaded I was told it would be $3,577 ($765 more) unless I gave the driver $600 cash for him to waive the extra fees. Unethical! I had to be out of my house that day due to the sale so I paid him the extra cash. I was also told it would take them 7-10 days to receive my items. It took them an extra 5 days. My son and I Played phone tag with the driver (who blocked our calls or would not answer his phone (Hassan from Bobbo Trucking In.)) I was told (by Hassan) they would be there on the 15th between 12 and 2 pm. Guess what? No show. So we started calling him. Finally 5 hours later he answers and says he will be there in 10 minutes. He does not show up for another 45 minutes. Absolutely Ridiculous!! I asked Hassan if they would take money off the bill for being late and he called someone and they told him I would have to call them tomorrow. Now they are unloading the truck in the dark for 2.5 hours and we can not see anything due inadequate lighting. I did notice some things broken and missing. I asked for a claim form and Hassan stated he ran out, REALLY?? After this is all said and done the final balance some how was different then what I was told again. (Less $373 unknown why) I have made several phone calls to the trucking company and Handle with Care to file a claim and no one seems to answer the phone or picks it up and hangs up!! Is it because they have my number on caller ID and are avoiding my claim. I think so!! Very stressful experience for our entire family including the broken items and loss of items, one that can not be replaced. This company will scam you!! Do Not Use Them!!

Long-distance move from Crossville, TN to Gresham, OR

A SCAM

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE FRAUDULENT!! I am leaving a DV situation and Kevin who i booked with said the movers would be very discreet.. well from the beginning it was a nightmare! They got my moving dates wrong .. they last minute showed up at 6pm. Wrecked the truck ..the cops were called. I was terrified of my abuser showing up. They told me it was so late they couldn't do it all UNLESS we helped. So myself, my 16yr old daughter and 76 yr old mother had to disassemble all the furniture..move all the boxes and totes downstairs for them .. basically did it all.. and what they did do they destroyed! Dragging our brand new mattresses on the filty garage floor.. breaking my daughter's speaker.. dropping all my FRAGILE totes! It was INSANE!! but unfortunately I was so desperate to get out that I just ignored it.. then they charge me TRIPLE!! I was quoted $1742 they charged over $5100.. so anyway me and my daughter drive to Oregon and the truck is supposed to meet us there..but about 5 days after they picked up my stuff in TENNESSEE a lady in FLORIDA calls me that had gotten one of my boxes in her stuff! WTF!! thankgod she was a nice lady and reached out to me and is sending me my box.. but she also stated what a nightmare this company was and how she had to CALL THE COPS ON THEM when they dropped her stuff off because they were threatening And harassing her and she's 6months pregnant. That's disgusting !! How dare a company do that! So ANYWAY Today I call and ask WHY one of my boxes is in FLORIDA and the "general manager " proceeds to degrade and belittle me and tells me if I have a problem to just COME PICK UP MY SHIT! I told him what a shitty company he ran.. and he said "then you shouldn't have hired us" like NO SHIT! I WISH I would've read the reviews first! Anyway were screaming back and forth at eachother and he says "I can see why your husband left you"!!! Like are you FKN SERIOUS!! my husband ABUSED ME and he had the audacity to say that to me!! Now they blocked my number and have my stuff! So what do I do now?? I'm beyond disgusted and appalled!! I've already contacted the BBB and will take this to the full extent of the law!!

Please Do Not Use This Company

I wish I could rate them a 0! This company lied to me from start to finish. On day two of packing. Their truck arrived, lifted the back gate and my bed frame and other belongings fell on to the driveway. A strap was not fastened properly. When I asked questions, Their pick up team threatened to "leave my sh*% by the side of the road" That's a quote. Multiple items were never delivered. Many more damaged. They said they don't use contract companies - that's a lie. The truck arrived at our new home with just a driver. I had to unload the truck! We received not reimbursement for many items that never arrived at our new home. We only received $63.00 for damaged items. They paid at .60 per pound. I can add up more than 100 pounds of damaged goods with just three items. We had MANY more than that.

The worst moving experience with moving company Handle with care

Handle with care, Georgia based moving company,is a very very bad moving company. It is the worst moving company you don’t want to hire. First of all once they take your deposit which is half of the moving cost they will hardly answer your phone call. They will initially give you big discount to get your business but the way they will hai your move is going to be one of the worst experience of your life. We did not receive so many items we packed and they loaded in their moving truck. We had them unloaded the truck in to Public storage in North Carolina after a month from they picked up all the boxes and bags and all the other items. After about a year when we bought the house in North Carolina and brought all the stuff back from public storage facility which was secured pretty good during the time of storage we are now missing so May items we had packed in boxes and luggage bags. At least 3-4 boxes of stainless steel pots and pans and some small kitchen appliance like a new countertop microwave which we got as gift from a relative and we had packed some kitchenware like expensive pots and pans sets and glass ware and Pyrex glassware sets. A game board called Carrom, at least 4-5 big plant stands and some luggage bags of costly Indian dresses and accessories. Please please please never ever hire these Handle with care movers because you will lose more money then you think. You are not going to save anything at all. They also broke some items like they broke my dyson vaccum and a storage bin that I can’t use any more. They will find a way to steel and brake your stuff. If we didn’t move our stuff almost year later after they dropped if my off in To public storage, we would have found out all this things earlier and we would write this earlier but we just moved two months ago and found out we are missing lots of stuff that these moving company stole. Now they won’t even answer the phone because they know they stole our stuff. Very first time when I called few days ago to let them know we are missing lots of items they they picked up and didn’t deliver the lady said at the other end it’s too late now and I told her we just moved to our home because we just bought the home. She asked me to hold and never came back on the phone for over 30 minutes and I got tired of waiting and hung up. I also called I believe is the owner of this company name Eli and he never picks up his phone. Never ever use this moving company because they will steal, they Will tear and they will do whatever they can to damage as much as stuff they can and they will not answer your phone calls. They should not be in this business because they just want to steal. They will take your hard earned money because they will steal stuff which you worked hard for and you will never get the stuff back. They ask for check for half of the moving charge and upon the delivery they want other half cash because they don’t want you to do stop payment and have credit card company fight with them for the cost. Never ever pay them with check or cash in fact never ever hire them if you do not want to have your costly and any of your belongings to disappear. Handle with care is the worst moving company that no one should use. Instead of last Rating 9one star they should have choice if minus one thru five star ratings and they would be minus five stars.

Long-distance move from Greensboro, NC to Yakima, WA

Please Avoid this Company if You Can

Deceitful practices of this moving company, alongside their broker and driver, has led to one-bedroom move costing me $6751.88(excluding other costs incurred due to inconvenience). It's about triple of the initial amount the broker quoted to rope me in. My items were destroyed upon delivery, leaving me with another loss of about $7000. When I complained, I was emailed a contact(by a rude/insensitive representative) to a moving claims company that was supposed to be 3rd party but(by the language of their autogenerated response on the website) appeared actually to be run by Handled With Care LLC itself. I contacted the moving claims company and never heard back(even after following up).

Snapshots of my Bad Experience:

1. In the destination end in WA, September of 2022: some of the boxes containing my item arrived in bad shape. The damage was so bad the driver had to bring in my items wrapped in fabric and not in the box they were in. In the departure end in NC in July: I witnessed the loaders carelessly handling my items during loading in the origination spot. I saw my things kept falling off from top to the floor of the truck as they loaded with reckless abandon.

2. Damaged items: bike, computer monitor, 55 inch TV, coffee table, TV stand, lamps, leather couch, bathroom shelf, vacuum cleaner, queen mattress so trashed and dirty.

3. I was charged for 2 trash cans even though one was taken and transported by the driver at the origin. I was charged for hamper even though what I had was a collapsible laundry basket that folds as flat as a book. I was charged for end table even though none was delivered. I was charged for services on the bill of lading that the moving company did not perform. I was charged for items of mine they did not transport or include.

4. Both the driver at the origin and the brokerage company (My Best Mover LLC) employed practices that amount to extortion. Not aware that I have already measured the cubic feet of my entire set of belongs and even, the driver at the origin overstated the space my items occupied in order to charge me $900 tip(gratuity). He would not allow any transparency. He would not agree to measure the space for me to see. Also, he ignored my request to alert me (before completing loading). I have asked that if my items were exceeding the cubic feet I was quoted, he should let me know before load further things. He proceed to haul in some of the items (such as mattress) only to tell me they would not take down any item from the truck(and wouldn't allow me to retrieve them from the truck) and proceeded to quote me his exaggerated cubic feet of space. This trickery allowed him to tag $900 gratuity to my overall cost. The broker(My Best Mover LLC--based in Florida) has used low rate quote to get me to sign a binding contact, meaning I'll lose my money if I backed out. Upon roping me in, the doubled the quote amount even to reduce my inventory upon following up.

5. Delivery Delay and Storage Overcharge: the representative from the brokerage(My Best Mover LLC) initially assured me that even if I had not secured an apartment in a timeframe of a bit more than 30 days, I would not be charged for storage. I noticed this was not put on the contract, and Handled with Care Moving and Storage LLC ended up keeping my item longer than necessary and proceeded to charged me additional $250. Over a week before my move to WA, I sent some email messages and made calls about delivering my belongings. These messages and calls were largely ignored by Handled with Care LLC, allowing more time to elapse and keeping items in a warehouse in Georgia. This led to an unnecessary delay and additional charge of $250(contrary to what the broker's rep has stated). The $250 is far above the average cost of monthly storage in Georgia(where my items were kept). And, it was the moving company that chose to go over by close to two weeks after the 30 days. they wouldn't pick up my call or return email prior to expiration of the 30 days, or, even many days thereafter. When I finally got hold of them after frantic repeated efforts, they wouldn't release my item until I paid. They wouldn't return email to tell me what the issue was till a few weeks after I have been trying to reach them. The customer service was poor all through and through.

Worst Decision I've Ever Made

**TL/DR** Charged thousands of dollars more than quoted, disrespectful/unhelpful customer service, and items broken and missing

If I could give zero stars, I would. According to my experience (and that of others I've since spoken to), Handle With Care relies on misdirection, fine print, and surprise charges to raise prices much higher than initial quotes. I was quoted $2,700 and ended up paying over $8,000 to get my things back (which effectively destroyed all hopes of a Christmas this year). In addition, my experience with the customer service rep, Monique, included my calls being screened, being left on hold for (literally, by the end of this) hours, and being hung up on. Note that if you live on a street the 18-wheeler cannot fit comfortably down, you will be charged extra (they wanted $600 from me) to have your things transferred. I chose to rent a U-Haul and do it myself and made a case that I wasn't getting the service I'd paid for as a result, but they refused to refund any of the money I'd paid. In fact, Eli, the supervisor making that final decision, refused to even speak with me. Finally, "Handle With Care" is a misnomer: of the 121 items/boxes delivered, 2 pieces of furniture were smashed beyond repair (see pictures), and I was missing 5 items: 3 lamps, a headboard, and a table. When I tried to report this, as per the contract, customer service wouldn't respond to my calls, and the email I sent asking them to check their warehouse for my things went unanswered.
